Triumph Tiger Cub Electronic Ignition Internal Rotor Stator Kit - All Models
Suitable for Triumph T20 Tiger Cub models - adaptor required for pre 1962 models - see below.
Replacement, complete CDI (capacitive discharge ignition) electronic ignition suitable for Tiger Cub models - locates in place of the original Wipac alternator in the LH cover.
The CDI (capacitive discharge ignition) works by charging a capacitor within the CDI unit from the source coil on the stator, this same coil also produces the timing signal. The cdi digitises the signal and uses the microprocessor to derive the pre-programmed ignition timing curve.
All models of Tiger Cub have a 5/8" crankshaft to mount the alternator rotor. Models after 1962 have an adaptor sleeve with slot to fit rotor, which has a 3/4" bore, therefore for pre 1962 models you will require a rotor adaptor sleeve - see related products.
NOTE: Timing is set as per the instructions to 8° BTDC, the ignition will then advance to 35° BTDC. Adjust as required by removing cover and moving plate.
