Triumph Cub Start - Complete Bolt On PVL Electronic Ignition System With Primary Chain Tensioner - Newly Developed and Unique to Feked Off - Suit later engines only from 1961 on.

Designed and made by us in here in the UK, the Cub Start PVL Ignition System also solves the old problem of slack primary chains, why Triumph never made the Cub with a tensioner is hard to understand. Now you can solve two problems at the same time - ignition and chain tension.
Please check you have 4 bolt heads visible behind clutch and chain, this will only fit the 4 bolt models.

The stator bracket bolts directly into the engine, using the existing engine crankcase bolt locations, simply use the bolts we supply instead of your existing crankcase bolts. The third position uses the primary oil drain hole. The bracket holds the tensioner blade, allowing you to take up slack in the chain.

This system is designed to simply bolt in, there is very little to change. Other systems for the Tiger Cub require use of the old alternator mounts on the outer primary case, which sounds OK in principal, but how do you accurately check that the rotor is not rubbing the stator? and how do you accurately check the timing? This system allows you to run the engine with the outer primary case removed so you can inspect the operation.

The genuine PVL digital system will produce a strong reliable spark for easy starting. Suitable for single cylinder Triumph T20 Tiger Cub models. The kit is supplied with a machined light-weight rotor ready to fit any 3/4" crankshaft - adaptor required for pre 1962 models - see below.

Self-generating - ignition only, it does not provide power for lights, switches or any other electrics.

All models of Tiger Cub have a 5/8" crankshaft to mount the alternator rotor. Models after 1962 have an adaptor sleeve with slot to fit rotor, which has a 3/4" bore, therefore for pre 1962 models you will require a rotor adaptor sleeve - see related products.
