Triumph T20 Tiger Cub Electrex Electronic Ignition Internal Rotor Stator Kit - PVL Replacement
Suitable for all Triumph T20 Tiger Cub models - 3/4" adaptor will be required for pre 1962 models.
Complete CDI (capacitor discharge ignition) electronic ignition to replace an existing PVL system.
Locates in the modified LH crankcase, which has been machined to provide three supporting studs for the stator assembly.
The CDI works by charging a capacitor within the CDI unit from the source coil on the stator, this same coil also produces the timing signal. The CDI digitises the signal and uses the microprocessor to derive the pre-programmed ignition timing curve.
If the original PVL stator base plate is not present a compatible plate may be required when fitting - see related products.
Please note: All Tiger Cub models have a 5/8" crankshaft to mount the alternator rotor. Models after 1962 have an adaptor sleeve with slot to fit rotor which has a 3/4" bore. Therefore for pre 1962 models you will require a rotor adaptor sleeve - see related products.
Timing is set as per the instructions to 8° BTDC, the ignition will then advance to 35° BTDC. Adjust as required by removing cover and moving plate.
Very easy to install and set-up. Full wiring diagram and fitting instructions supplied.
Kit contains: Stator, Rotor, HT CDI + Cap, Kill Switch, Spacer Ring and Fitting Kit.
